At 3iQ, we believe that creating meaningful impact goes beyond business. Through our Make It Matter philosophy, we encourage our people to support causes they are passionate about and contribute to positive change in the communities and environments around us.
That commitment was recently brought to life by Nathalie Burdet, our Global Head of Marketing, who took on the Lewa Safari Half Marathon on 27 June 2026, combining her passion for running with a mission to support conservation and community development across Africa.
Running for a Cause
For Nathalie, the Lewa Safari Half Marathon represented much more than a sporting challenge.
"Running through the savanna was a dream and seeing firsthand how Tusk supports wildlife, communities and future generations made every kilometre even more meaningful."
Held within Kenya's renowned Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the event is one of the world's most unique races, attracting participants from around the globe to raise funds for conservation and community initiatives. Through her participation, Nathalie helped support the work of Tusk, a leading conservation charity dedicated to protecting wildlife and empowering local communities across Africa.
Supporting Tusk's Mission
Nathalie chose to support Tusk because of its proven impact and commitment to creating lasting change. Protecting wildlife and natural habitats not only safeguards biodiversity but also helps create sustainable livelihoods and stronger local economies.
Since its founding in April 1990 Tusk has:
- Partnered with 75 projects across 26 countries in Africa
- Invested more than £130 million in direct conservation activities
- Supported initiatives benefiting over 40 threatened species
- Helped protect more than 50 million hectares of wild ecosystems, including critical freshwater and coastal marine habitats
- Positively impacted the lives of more than 10 million people
Nathalie saw firsthand the extraordinary work Tusk is doing – from educating children and supporting water management for local communities to driving conservation projects that protect wildlife and ecosystems. The funds raised through the event support these initiatives, making the impact visible on the ground. One moment that stayed with her was visiting a local school, where a young child gave her a drawing to wish her luck for the run.

Bringing the ‘S’ in ESG to Life
Environmental, Social and Governance considerations have become an important part of how organizations define long-term success. While governance frameworks and environmental commitments often receive significant attention, the social dimension can sometimes be harder to demonstrate in tangible terms.
That is why community-focused initiatives like this one matter.
Nathalie’s experience is a powerful reminder that Make It Matter is more than a philosophy — it is something that at 3iQ we bring to life through action. Whether through our work, our communities or the causes we choose to support, every little step can help create lasting impact.
